- Grave in a pasture on farm of Ransom Mathewson, near Burnham Hollow. Wife was Deborah Swift. Enlisted at Lebanon, Conn. as a teamster in 1780, He recruited horses from the county and took them to the Quartermaster's Department on the Hudson river. In 1832 he was placed on the pension roll of Chatauqua Co., N. Y. for service as teamster. Children: Chester, Charles, Orestres.
